Every piece has its own story: from quirky everyday pendants to extravagant engagement rings, we asked our clients to tell us about their personal journey from sketch to finish.
Andrew & Andie
How did you meet?
Andrew: We met online, just before I moved back to St. Louis from California. I had set my online profile to St. Louis, and on a weekend trip, I had the chance to meet Andie in person. Just two dates later, I pretty much told her I wanted to marry her!
Can you share your proposal story?
I was sent to Seattle to work on a 6-month project for my job, and Andie planned to follow once she finished teaching for the year. Before she moved across the country, I knew I wanted to propose to her, so I flew back for the last week of her classes. On Friday, after her last class, I set up a picnic on Art Hill complete with champagne, snacks, and flowers. When she arrived, I got down on one knee. Both of us were so excited, we sort of forgot to eat! We drank wine on Art Hill, and then went to the Vino Gallery in Central West End and had another glass of wine. By the time we realized we hadn’t eaten, it was 9:30 p.m. and everything was closed. So we just ordered a pizza!
Can you share a fun fact about you as a couple?
While we have only been together for a little over two years, we have already lived in Seattle, California, Charleston (SC), and St Louis!
Was Andie involved in the design process?
Andie told me exactly what she wanted: something that was classical and unique all at the same time. I knew that Pratiksha was the jeweler I wanted to use after my friend's experience. I received personalized, one-on-one service with a unique ring and it was no more than any discount online jeweler. I have recommended Pratiksha to all of my friends.
Are there any details included in the piece that have personal meaning, such as heirloom diamonds?
The design is what is special. It is exactly what she wanted. I catch her looking at her rings (engagement and matching wedding band) almost every day. She constantly tells me how much she loves it and how beautiful it is.
Notes from the Designer
Andie's ring embodies the perfect aesthetic of classic meets modern, thanks to the channel-set shank and stunning emerald-cut center stone. I absolutely love it when the bride gets to be a part of the design process!
