Every piece has its own story: from quirky everyday pendants to extravagant engagement rings, we asked our clients to tell us about their personal journey from sketch to finish.
Can you tell us about the special occasion this piece was created for?
I always knew I wanted to create a special memory of my children by using their birthstones. I was pregnant with my second child and knew the due date, but since it was early July, so I had to wait until the birth in case of an early delivery. In the meantime, I was asked to be a bridesmaid at one my best friend's wedding. I met a lady who was showcasing Tisha's jewelry, and I was really impressed with all the designs. From light to heavy, simple to extravagant, intricate to sophisticated – I knew I would encounter these designs again.
Months went by. I had my baby, but losing the extra weight was tough the second time around. I couldn’t wear my wedding ring and really wanted to find something to temporarily take its place. I remembered the rings I saw at my friend’s wedding, and contacted her for Tisha’s information. My best friend is in the fashion industry and couldn’t stop raving about Tisha’s jewelry line. I went to her website and came across a ring named the Eva Green Flash Citrine & Peridot Cocktail Ring. It is stunning. Exactly what I wanted, but didn’t know how to explain it.
I messaged the company and started talking to a representative immediately. We went back and forth for a few days as I wanted to customize it with my children’s birthstones. In turn, I found out I was talking to Tisha herself! Wow! She was so present in the conversation. She provided pictures and discussed each minor detail in depth with me – which diamonds on the shank look better, which stones surrounding the diamonds would look better, care for the ring, etc. I was able to receive the ring before my birthday and it meant that much more to me, because I could wear the ring in place of my wedding ring. I could see my children in each stone near my heart. I wouldn’t change a thing about it and have worn it every day since. I recently lost the weight so the ring is now on the intended finger, and it’s simply gorgeous!
Were you involved in the design process, or was this a surprise to you?
The design was already there, but I was very involved in customizing the ring.
Are there any details included in the piece that have personal meaning?
Yes. The stones are my children's birthstones: amethyst for February, and ruby for July.
A note from the designer
I'm so flattered that Anita thought of us when it was time to create such a thoughtful, personal piece. The color combination of this ring takes my breath away!
