Every piece has its own story: from quirky everyday pendants to extravagant engagement rings, we asked our clients to tell us about their personal journey from sketch to finish.
Rhiannon & Nic
How did you meet?
Rhiannon: We met through a mutual friend.
Can you share your proposal story?
Nic took me to a gorgeous vineyard in Connecticut and surprised me. He knelt down on one knee and said beautiful and kind things before asking me to marry him. Of course I said yes!
Was your ring a surprise, or were you involved in the design?
I was involved in designing the ring, but Nic picked out the stones/sizes and surprised me.
Where did your inspiration for a sapphire engagement ring come from?
I wanted a sapphire because I love sapphires and it would be different for an engagement ring. I decided that a diamond wasn't for me, because all the diamond rings I tried on didn't feel like they fit my personality. And when I became inspired by Elizabeth Hurley's sapphire engagement ring, we tried some gemstones on top of my hand, and it just felt right for me.
Are there any other thoughts you'd like to share?
I couldn't have imagined a more perfect engagement ring. I tell Nic at least once a week how much I love my ring and how it's the most beautiful ring in the world.
Notes from the Designer
The remarkable blue hue of this sapphire is electric against the diamond side stones. I admire trendsetters like Elizabeth Hurley and Princess Diana for setting the bar for gemstone engagement rings decades ago, proving that they are just as elegant and timeless as diamond rings.
